About Phinomenon

Phinomenon is built by browser and cloud veterans — our founders behind FydeOS (a Chromium-based OS trusted by millions) and QingCloud (one of China's earliest API-first IaaS platforms founded in 2012). Fresh off a healthy, eight‑figure Series A raise, we've got the cash runway one needs to dream big without panicking about next week's payroll. With folks working from San Francisco, London, Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen, we're proudly global and friendly to your time zone, with overlapping hours so we can all actually talk. We ship fast and ship hard — but burnout is so last decade, so we bake in wellness stipends, mandatory recharge days and flexible schedules, because great code comes from healthy lives. If you want to build the nextgen browser that actually, you know, gets you — while still enjoying your evenings and maintaining upright posture — welcome home.

About the Role

As an AI Product Researcher at Phinomenon, you'll be the voice of the user and data across our teams. You'll dive into behavioural metrics, run experiments and qualitative studies to understand how people are using AI-powered browser features, and turn those insights into compelling narratives that guide our roadmap. You'll collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and researchers to prototype ideas, test hypotheses, and refine features that feel smart, intuitive, and human.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse user interaction data and usage metrics around AI/browser features to uncover trends and pain points
  • Conduct qualitative research — user interviews, surveys, guerrilla testing — to add context to the numbers
  • Rapid prototype feature concepts using no-code tools or lightweight demos to validate ideas
  • Build compelling narratives, visualisations, and reports to share findings with stakeholders
  • Partner with PM, design, engineering, and AI teams to translate insights into actionable product improvements
  • Stay on top of new AI UX patterns, tools, and frameworks—help us stay ahead of the curve
  • Advocate for responsible AI usage: understand biases, privacy concerns, and ethical implications

Requirements

  • 3+ years in product or UX research, data analysis, or similar roles, especially in tech or AI‑adjacent products
  • Strong quantitative skills — SQL, Mixpanel/Amplitude/GA, data visualization, A/B testing
  • Experience with qualitative methods—interviews, surveys, usability studies
  • Ability to prototype quickly (Miro, Figma, no‑code) and iterate based on feedback
  • Excellent storytelling — transform data into narratives that influence decisions
  • Collaborative mindset — comfortable working across PM, design, engineering, and AI teams
  • Deep curiosity about AI UX: how users think, behave, and interact with intelligent systems

Nice to Have

  • Background in AI product research — especially around developer tools, agents, or browser enhancements
  • Basic coding ability (Python, JS) to explore datasets or prototype demos
  • Exposure to ML/LLMs, prompt engineering, or experimentation in AI flows
  • Familiarity with ethical AI frameworks and responsible design principles
  • Experience working in a remote, global startup environment
